Homestudy complete!

We feel like we are finally making some progress on our second adoption, as we recently received approval for our homestudy. The next step is to submit the homestudy to US immigration services to get approval to adopt internationally. Once this is complete we will be able to submit all of our paperwork (the dossier) to Ethiopia.

Something that we haven't shared with everyone, yet, is the fact that our homestudy has been approved to adopt a child 4 through 9 years of age! We have prayed fervently over the last few months about this and feel led to proceed in this direction. We know that there will be plenty of challenges that will come along with adopting an older child and adopting out of birth order, but we also know that there will be many blessings.

We look forward to sharing more about this unique journey back to Ethiopia in the days to come. . .

  1. Bless your hearts, I hope all works out for you through this journey. I will keep you all in my prayers. I admire you both for this. My heart breaks everytime I think of these poor children. Good luck and give Joseph a BIG hig from me.

  3. Hey Dana I have met you before at the crossing but I was actually led to your blog by your sister. Angie and I were thetas together and she mentioned on FB her sister adopted from ET and gave me the link. Little did I know I had actually met you and Joseph already! So cool! I love that you guys are going for it again and for an older child. Our agency says there are so many who need families. We are officially DTE for 0-3 unless God moves in our hearts for something different. Can't wait to continue to follow your journey!
