Home and Happy

Well we are all home and have survived three weeks together in the US as a family of 6!

Many of you probably already saw our FB live post from the airport, but if not here it is for ya.

Thank you to one of my best friends, Lana, from Art&Soul Photography for catching these special moments for us at he airport!  We were so happy to have the support of so many family and friends.  What a fun airport party it was!

Now for the big question - how are things going?!  Well, for the most part, things are going pretty well.  There have been some struggles, but we knew there would be.  We knew that the adjustment to a new language, a new culture, and a new family would be hard, and it has been at times.  Kassahun, though, is super strong, resilient, and brave, and has been an absolute champ during this time.  He has started high school and even joined a soccer team in the last several weeks.  His English is minimal, but he is in good hands with the ESL teachers at his school.  And he is great at soccer - scored a goal in each of his first two games!!

We are so grateful for your prayers and support during our journey to bring Kassahun home.  We are honored that God has chosen us to be Kassahun's parents and thankful that you all have been a part of our journey.

As you know, we still have one more to bring home from Ethiopia.  I am happy to report that the paperwork is moving along well for "D" and we have been granted the approval that we needed before he turned 16 earlier this month.  We are praying that we will be able to bring him home in 2017.

Until "D" is home,

Dana and Jack
