Ethiopia Update

Things are going well in Ethiopia for Jack, Solomon, and Dagim.  They have attended the appointment at the US Embassy and subsequently were able to pick up Dagim's US Visa.  This officially completes all of the required paperwork to get him home!! Praise God!

The rest of the days have been filled with lots of goodbyes for Dagim.  His orphanage had a farewell ceremony for him which was very special.  Dagim wore a traditional Ethiopian outfit gifted to him by the orphanage and his "brothers" from the orphanage had farewell greetings for him.  These boys have lived together for many years, so while they are happy to see one of their "brothers" be able to leave the orphanage and join a family, it is also a sad time for them.  They will certainly miss having him around the home.  In addition, most of them will not have the chance to live with a family and I think this is hard on them.   It is bittersweet for them to see Dagim go.  Would you pray for the boys that Dagim has said goodbye to - that although they may not have an earthly father who is present in their lives, that they would be comforted and find hope in their Heavenly Father?

In a matter of hours, the boys will be heading to the airport for the long journey home.  The flight is 17 hours to Washington DC!  Let's just say it is a bit painful.  We will be gathering at the airport on Saturday afternoon for Dagim's Welcome Home Party!   Stay tuned as I will try to Facebook Live it again!

Until he's home,

Dana and Jack
